Hello, I’m Jason, and I own a 40′ Morgan Cruising Ketch called Flight of Reason. I bought the boat in April of 2020 and didn’t have the experience to know how much work it needed. Now nearly 18 months later, I’ve replaced practically everything. The boat is solid. I am currently in Kemah, TX.
On Sept 1st, I am finally moving out of the marina and living on the hook. I want to immediately head south to Mexico and beyond to experience the Caribbean, but the boat is a little too large for me to single hand, and motoring is boring.
I am looking for one or two crew to go with me at least on this first passage to Mexico and beyond if they wish. I’m easygoing and incredibly patient. I’m not a petty tyrant and will never ask you to work harder than I do. I can provide a bunk and food without contributions. If you want booze or other luxuries, that’s negotiable but would be limited at my expense. I don’t have much experience, and if you’re more talented or knowledgable than I am, I have no trouble listening to you.
What I need from you is an adventurous spirit and able to afford your own travel to the boat. I’ve never written this kind of post until lately, and I am as inexperienced with this as with anything else, so if I forgot something important, just ask.
