The Hallberg Rassy 38 is a meticulously maintained sailing vessel, currently owned by its fourth owner since April 2022. Throughout 2022, significant updates were made, including the installation of a Victron energy inverter and battery charger, a Vetus bow-thruster, a three-blade propeller, and a Highfield 2.20m dinghy. Solar panels and new batteries were added, along with a G & B chart-plotter and autopilot. The boat features a new storm jib and gennaker sail, enhancing its sailing capabilities.
The electrical system was upgraded with a Victron energy MultiPlus compact 12V-2000W-80 Amp Inverter and new service and starter batteries. Two 340W Pantek solar panels were also installed. Comfort is ensured with a 40-liter water heater and a Webasto heater.
The vessel is powered by a Kubota 2203-M 50 Hp diesel engine, replaced in 2006, with only 1000 hours of use as of January 2024. It utilizes a shaft drive with a three-blade propeller and is equipped with a Vetus bow-thruster for improved maneuverability.
The rigging includes a masthead sloop rigging with a mast height of 51.67 ft (16.75 m) from DWL, a full battened mainsail, and newly replaced storm jib and gennaker sails. The running rigging was also replaced in 2022. Additionally, the boat features a Genoa sail and new cockpit cushions for added comfort.
For navigation, the Hallberg Rassy 38 is equipped with a B & G chart-plotter and GPS, a B & G Tridata depth and speed system, and a B & G autopilot, all installed in 2022. It also includes an ICOM – ICM505 VHF and a SIMRAD radar.
The accommodation offers two sofas in the saloon that can be converted into beds, an aft double cabin with a washbasin, and a forward V-bed cabin with a length of 1.85 meters. The galley is well-equipped with an Isotherm deep-freezer, a Taylors two-hob burner oven with grill, and a refrigerator.
Deck and safety features include a windlass with remote control at the cockpit, a 21 kg anchor with 50 meters of 8mm chain, and a Highfield dinghy with a GRP bottom replaced in 2022. It also has a Tohatsu 5 Hp outboard engine replaced in 2017 and a stainless steel davit installed in 2022. The boat comes with a life-raft that needs servicing.
The tank capacities are substantial, with a 350-liter fuel tank and a 400-liter freshwater tank, ensuring ample supplies for extended voyages.
