Gulfstar Yachts for sale
GULFSTAR is a large American shipyard that produced fiberglass sailing and motor yachts. The company existed from 1970 to 1990. In 1990, its assets were bought by the Viking Yachts shipyard.
The first boats of the new company belonged to the budget price segment. Lazzara set himself the goal of entering the market with inexpensive yachts and minimizing costs. However, already in the mid-70s, he refocused on high-quality high-speed yachts. In 1984, the company created some of the best fiberglass-hulled motor yachts in terms of speed and performance. It was this period that became the “golden era” of Gulfstar. It was during this time that the company produced a range of sailing yachts for charter in the Caribbean. Alas, immediately after its heyday, the shipyard faced decline. Already in 1986, the company started talking about a merger with Viking Yachts, and four years later its assets were bought out.
