The Bavaria 40 (2000) is a spacious and seaworthy cruising yacht that has been genuinely cared for and actively used as a family home in the Ionian for several seasons.
Powered by a Volvo Penta 55 hp diesel, she is economical and well suited to island hopping and longer passages. The boat is currently ashore in Preveza and comes with an established annual berth contract, providing an excellent base for cruising the Ionian.
Recent maintenance includes replacement of all seacocks and the holding tank in November 2025, antifouling in April 2026, and recent teak and stainless-steel care. The sprayhood windows and front cabin mattress were also replaced in 2026, while the dinghy and 4 hp outboard were serviced in April 2026.
The yacht is equipped for comfortable and relatively self-sufficient cruising, with a Victron solar system comprising 350 W of solar panels, a 300 Ah gel battery bank, Victron MPPT 100/30 and SmartShunt 300A, plus a 300 W inverter and 20 L hot-water system.
Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine C95 chartplotter, wind instruments, depth sounder, autopilot, VHF and an em-trak B953 AIS transponder. Ground tackle includes a Rokna anchor with 75 m of chain, with six life jackets carried on board.
Accommodation comprises two double cabins and two heads with showers, plus an aft deck shower, comfortable saloon, galley with gas cooker and oven, refrigerator and Bluetooth/AUX stereo with interior speakers.
The yacht has an in-mast furling mainsail, with both the original sail and a new unused replacement on board, while the serviceable genoa will require repair or replacement in due course.
A serviced dinghy with 4 hp outboard, cockpit tent and sprayhood are also included, making her a practical and well-equipped cruising yacht ready for continued use in Greece.
