Most long term cruisers have found 7x50s seems to be best compromise for FOV, low light and image stability as an unstabalized binocular. Personal variations occur and like all things boat it’s all about compromise. My experiance with 10x on a sailboat keeping a distant object in center or trying to measure with retical too hard, plus FOV is a lot smaller making scanning harder
