What do you guys think of this tandem anchoring setup? Current conditions- 16’ deep semi- poor holding, sandy but patches of grass.
20’ bridle -> 90’ 5/16 HT -> 44lb Rocna -> 8’ 5/16 chain -> Fortress.
I have used this setup a lot when short scoping in tight anchorages or poor holding and done fairly well knocks on wood. Just curious what people think.
Edit to add: This is for out 36’ S2 11.0C sloop. Roughly 18,000 lbs displacement.
P.S. I’ve been around sailing a couple decades. Nothing more entertaining than an anchor discussion 😂. It’s healthy debate though! I swear!

I don’t get why anchor debates always bring this out. With such strong statements too. Tandem anchoring is the only way multiple anchors bring out additional holding strength and the only multi anchor method that’s truly been scientifically vetted.
And the usual real reason for those comments is: ‘ive never done it’
