Replacing rivets on a 37 years old Selden mast?
This year we bought a 37 years old Hallberg Rassy 42e and we’ll be replacing the standing rigging but plan to keep the mast and boom. While I was inspecting them I saw that some of the rivets seem good (there’s no corrosion around them – is my conclusion correct?) but there is some corrosion around others.
What is your view regarding the rivets of such age? Should they be left as they are, should I replace the ones where there’s some corosion around or should all be replaced?
Thanks!

All rivets used by Seldén are monel and would nor need replacement due to age.
For fixtures of moving parts they can get play, in that case you must replace them.
On your pictures you show a Rurgerson cheekblock that I would recommend to remove nd give the mast underneath a good clean as it has a stainless base and after this number of years corrosion might occur.
Best would be to give your full rig a good check up as its ar from new, but if well looked after she can mast several mote year. You bought good stuff 😉
