Regarding watermakers. Do you have to use certain brands of watermaker 5 micron filters? I had my Cape Horn Extreme installed (replaced actually) in Ft. Lauderdale. They said that if we buy their 5micron filters, we can reuse them 5x, but never to trust other 5 micron filters.
Side story, halden marine service was supposed to reimburse my wife and I for the watermaker they removed from our boat, but never did or replied to my emails about it. I’m sure it’s still collecting dust in the back of their office.

As far as reusing them, yep I have done that a lot with any of the pleated type filters I use. Hose the gunk off of them, let them dry, and store for the next go around.
